Fornasetti

I just figured out what my apartment needs now! Fornasetti plates!!
Piero Fornasetti was an Italian painter, sculptor, interior decorator and engraver. He lived most of life in Milan, attending the Brera Art Academy from 1930-32 when he was expelled for insubordination. During World War II, he went into exile in Switzerland from 1943-46. He created more than 11,000 items, many featuring the face of a woman, operatic soprano Lina Cavalieri, as a motif. Fornasetti found her face in a 19th century magazine. Now I just have to figure out which variation I want...

Easy home renewal

Yesterday I bought some fabric from IKEA. The collection, a set of five different patterns, is called ANNAMOA and is designed by Lotta Kühlhorn. Lotta is very well knowned for her illustrations and bookcover designs. Have a look at her website: http://www.lottakuhlhorn.se/first.php
Here's one image of, what I think is my favourite pattern. I can't really decide.

Before & After pt. 3

This looks like crap, I know... I don't know how I could live in this mezz. But now I have come to my senses! As you might know, I ordered a massive STRING shelf-system and this is how it turned out. :)
Almost there! I don't know what they put in the walls but it was really tough drilling it. Well, I didn't drill that much. Luckely my strong brother helped me out.
Iris didn't feel like helping out so she stayed in the kitchen creating beautiful art with grandmother.
And blam!! There it is!! I still have some fine tuning to do but it is still a large improvement!

Before & After pt. 1

Before
My home has been my priority now for a while. Instead of clothes, I put my money on where I lay my hat. First area of a make over is my TV corner. Finding a TV bench is a hard thing...

After
And I settled with this one... IKEA Stockholm in oak. Nice, huh? No more cables or dusty DVDs. Stay tunes for more changes in the Hawkeye recidence :)
